story rec, HP/SS Another great and inventive story from snarry_holidays. The mystery writer makes creative use of the potions' text book from the Half Blood Prince, and twists canon to her own - and the reader's - liking. Her Snape is snarky but human and Harry as mature as he should be, and not the hopeless, arrogant, rule-breaking kid he sometimes seems like. Besides, the plot is exciting. There might have been more explanations for their behaviour at times, and she could have looked more at other characters' reactions, but all in all, a very neat story. To be recommended! rl and fandom I can't believe my luck today! Okay, I bought a barely used green DKNY purse/handbag for 5 nkr, or slightly more than one dollar/less than a pound; then a beautiful, blue dress for Sensi-daughter (which she is already wearing since I sent it with Sensi-son on the train to Oslo and she called from her flat - extremely satisfied);and lots of other goodies, but I did a scoop: (just like last week!) I bought a wonderful, green glass bottle (of the roundish type)from the 1700s!!! and paid 10nkr for it. I was almost embarrassed when I paid, but a scoop is a scoop. At the antique shop it costs 1200nkr (I checked ;). I am happy! So, to business. Anybody else following the rugby finale on the BBC website? And of course - I have to write it like everybody else. Dumbledore is GAY! Did anyone wonder? Of course he is gay. So is Snape. And Harry. Possibly Malfoy jr + sr. This is a gay, gay, gay universe. A rec: it's been awhile since I read Severus and the crup by Josan, but I'll reread it later this evening. It's of course HP/SS. It's about a new era after Voldemort is destroyed, Hogwarts has collapsed, and magic is gone. Now, how to cope? Of course there's hope when Severus and Harry muster their resources. It could have been a bleak story, but as far as I remember it's a heartwarming story, written in that sparse style I like. have a good weekend everybody! | | Tuesday, October 9th, 2007 | | 8:09 pm |
I'm meeelting!!! So. You were wondering who possessed THE MOST SEXY VOICE EVER? Search no more. It is definitely the gay oh so gay for Potter: Severus Snape hot-hottie Alan Rickman. Listen to this: Shakespeare. Sonnet. Oh my.Or this link. Which incidentally includes scenes from the version of Cinderella (Eastern European, curtains for clothes) my kids and I watch every Christmas Eve and know all the lines to by heart! Uh, yeah. Crazy family. I know. To add proof: I played this (in an mp3 file I can't figure out how to upload to lj)for my advanced English students in connection to - you guessed it - our work on Shakespearian sonnets. Two of them (one girl, one boy) even guessed it was 'Snape' *g* ETA: A thousand vid clips on YouTube later...Why didn't anyone tell me there are a lifetime's worth of Alan Rickman video goodness out there? back from Euro-mini-con :) in Paris Or rather - :( because I didn't really want to go home that early. We met up in Vanves, the beautiful little town/suburb just outside Boulevard Périphérique where Francis (fransiskerst on lj) lives. she has a wonderful, quirky town house we invaded for the weekend. (Okay, most of us stayed at a hotel during nights) Who? Francis, Dinah, Frau Flora, mrlnpndrgn and I. We exchanged gifts (I only brought food this year, alas.)salivated over Francis' extensive collection of MfU photos and posters, and talked, talked, talked, ate, and watched lots of MfU episodes, both in German and in English. Ordinary con stuff, you might say? Yeah, well, not so ordinary for us few European slashy cousins; it was a rare treat! And! I found a friend in mrlnpndrgn who is just as interested as I am in going to museums - especially of the naval/marine sort. We had a perfect morning with breakfast at an outside table watching (yeah, if we stretched just so and turned our heads :)the Eiffel Tower, and then visiting the Musèe de la Marine. A wonderful place and thank you for the good company, C! So it was a great weekend despite it being too short for me because my travel agent bollixed up my plane tickets. Just a year until next time! (Off to figure out how to put in IJ names now) Current Mood: happy | | Saturday, September 1st, 2007 | | 5:30 pm |
Hi! I created this journal today and already I feel great here (didn't study psychology for nothing ;) It's a relief to have a safe haven away from lj. Well, stricktly speaking I also have a greatest journal place. As soon as I get approved (the age limit shouldn't be a problem, *sigh*), I think I'll start here by reccing on snarry_recs. Because, seriously, where else is EVERYTHING allowed? Apart from SG:A I mean? Off to search settings. sensine (I hope you whom I have friended here don't mind?) Current Mood: excited |
